Instagram Winners Announced!

We had so many wonderful entries to our first Instagram contest that our judges had a hard time choosing.  Greater Portland's dynamic, and charming character was certainly revealed. We will be sharing some of our favorite honorable mentions on Instagram this week.  Thank you to everyone who entered.

Below are the winning pictures!  We are already looking forward to our next contest so we can explore the region through other people's eyes.

Thank you to Sawyer & Company and Harmon's & Barton's for donating a gift certificate for the Best overall door winner!

Best Overall Door by @shanlewright

This well composed photo with interesting shapes is well balanced and perfectly captures so much of greater Portland in this wisteria framed doorway that is accentuated with an old hitching post.  And it turns out this is a John Calvin Stevens building.

Best Door Detail by @cemaine

Our judges loved the way this picture accentuates how the design of this doorway loaded with wood, brick, and glass details carries all the way up to the top of this unique downtown building on the Charles Q. Clapp Block at the corner of Exchange and Federal.

Best Holiday Door by @barbosca

Our Judges couldn't help but be delighted by this colorful, whimsical, and very festive snippet of holiday cheer on Munjoy Hill with the subtle evergreen trim, ribbons in motion, and mixed materials on the building.

This photo had the most likes and it is a fantastic example of so many twin doors around Portland.  They are similar but different in so many ways: Light on/off, Winter/Fall Decorations, Painted/Stained Door.
