Understand how to improve energy efficiency in older buildings while maintaining the historic character and architectural elements. The workshop will provide guiding principles and specific techniques and efforts that can be taken to save energy, improve occupant health, and promote durability and sustainability of older buildings. Local case studies will illustrate key principles and approaches to achieving energy efficiency and sustainability goals. There will be time to discuss strategies for specific situations and to ask questions. The program will also include information on historic architectural styles and a discussion of the properties of building materials as relates to energy efficiency.
