Neighborhood History Night: East Deering

  • St. Peter's Episcopal Church 678 Washington Avenue Portland, ME, 04103 USA (map)

Through historic maps and images and recent research learn about historic East Deering.

East Deering grew from a small rural village into a suburban neighborhood for Portland’s growing population in part due to employment opportunities at Burnham and Morrill and in the Grand Trunk Railroad yard.

Join Julie Larry to learn more about the transformation of the neighborhood and the history of some of its residents at the turn of the 20th century.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Registration is strongly encouraged. Space is limited. Thank you to St. Peter's Episcopal Church for having us!
