What is a Rusticator?

At the turn of the 20th century Rusticators made vacationing in Maine a thing. Shedding city suits and skirts they flocked to Maine's coast to immerse themselves in wool, linen, and the rustic coastline. Follow the links below to see pictures of and read about the leisure activities and attire of Maine Rusticators.
