Before and After

Portland’s neighborhoods and streetscapes reflect the city’s evolution over time.  While there have been significant losses, including both our major 19th-century train stations, there is also a remarkable legacy of authentic historic architecture that remains a vital part of the city.  The city continues to develop with new architecture and public art that reflect current trends amid the city’s historic context.
